Momentum Builds for SIIA's Information Technology Showcase
2003 New York, NY - Oct. 29, 2003 - As Information Technology Showcase 2003 approaches, the one-day conference and trade show continues to spark interest from technology companies, IT executives, journalists, investors and others in the financial community. The exclusive event will be held Thursday, Oct. 30 at the New York Hilton in New York City, one of the largest IT buying markets in the world. Produced by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the New York New Media Association (a division of SIIA) and CeBIT America, the event aims to foster deals, showcase promising technologies, offer panel discussions with high-profile speakers and more. More than 100 companies - large companies to small vendors to start-ups - will exhibit technologies and solutions to hundreds of potential customers, partners and investors, many of whom stem from the New York area. In addition, blue-chip companies like IBM, Motorola and Xerox will sponsor exhibits from key partners. And more than 100 companies are scheduled to participate in Information Technology Showcase 2003’s Face-to-Face program, which sets up meetings between IT vendors and Fortune 1000 buyers or potential investors. "The IT industry is poised to rebound. And that is generating excitement about ITS 2003," says Ken Wasch, president of SIIA. "IT buyers can't afford to be anything less than up-to-date on innovative solutions. I can’t think of a more timely event for this industry and I can’t think of a more appropriate city." According to a survey released by SIIA this week, 51 percent of survey participants
said they expect a recovery in IT spending to begin before the end of the second
quarter 2004. Just under 70% think a recovery will begin before the end of
the third quarter 2004. The survey was conducted to gauge the views of IT executives
