SIIA, NYNMA Announce Programs and Panels for Information Technology Showcase 2003
Event offers access to IT buyers in New York area, opportunities for face-to-face meetings

New York, NY - Sept. 11, 2003 - The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) today announced the lineup of panels and programs to be featured at Information Technology Showcase 2003, a trade show produced by SIIA, the New York New Media Association (a division of SIIA) and CeBIT America.

The event will be held Oct. 30, 2003 in New York City, one of the largest IT buying markets and business media centers in the world. Information Technology Showcase 2003 is expected to draw hundreds of companies from around the world and thousands of IT buyers from the financial services, consumer products, media, life-sciences and other industries based in the New York area. Information Technology Showcase 2003's full day of events aims to generate deals, highlight new technologies, facilitate face-to-face meetings; and explore pressing industry issues.

Panels and pitches
"The industry is shifting in profound ways," says Ken Wasch, president of SIIA. "We have designed our panels to highlight what executives need to know to stay ahead of the curve. This kind of inside knowledge is invaluable."

Scheduled panel discussions include:

  • Industry Dynamics: Keeping Pace with Technology
  • IT Governance: Making the case for value
  • Web Services: Beyond infancy and into maturity?
  • Expanding the value of your resources
A product discussion and related-product pitch session will be held in three areas:
  • Business Continuity
  • Compliance/Data Management
  • Public Sector Contracts

Face-to-Face Program
Information Technology Showcase 2003 will also offer a program to set up meetings with potential partners and buyers. Participants can arrange for meetings with influential technology buyers at financial services, pharmaceutical, media, consumer products and other companies. Young companies can arrange meetings with venture capitalists and other funders.

"Our face-to-face program is unique in the industry. We want participants to have one-on-one, human interaction with potential partners," Wasch said. "We go beyond mere socializing. ITS 2003 gives participants a chance to speak directly to potential partners and buyers about their products."
